In honor of election day, we have been voting on things all day :-)  This morning's vote was Shredded Wheat vs Corn Flakes. Each child was given a glass bead and put it in front of the cereal box of their choice. In a surprise upset Shredded Wheat won over Corn Flakes 4 to 1.  Next came the choice of fruit and bananas lost to kwi, also by a vote of 4-1. Line leaders were voted for as well, Phaedra won one, Lelia won one and Brendan and Alanah will face off this afternoon- there are still opportunities for first to wash their hands, and line leader to the backyard :-)  This afternoon they also cast their vote for President, the kids know their candidates! The Presidential Vote: Obama-5  /  Romney-0


We also had Costume Day today, the kids looked great and it was fun! We made pink playdough- that also involved voting on the color (pink vs yellow) the scent (anise vs lemon- lemon won) and glitter vs no-glitter (glitter won).

We switched things up today and went outdoors after lunch rather than before- I think this also made it warmer when we were out.

Today we danced to the Halloween music for one of the last times before it heads back to the library.
Lots of building with the magna-tiles and there was a tea party in the playroom. Dave got the remote control helicopter out, they liked that alot!

We played with playdough today but at clean-up someone thought they should throw it away...so we will be making a new batch tomorrow probably :-)

Brrrr it was cold outside today. I think the weather is catching up with the date, we've been spoiled with the warm weather- thanks for sending in hats and mittens!

Today the Food Program Lady came- she was here for two hours! Normal visits will be only an hour thankfully.  It was longer because she collected all the forms and went over everything today.

South Elementary was released early today, so we had Alanah, Phaedra and Joey for lunch :-)
We got outside for a little while in the afternoon, it started to rain and we waited but then it started coming down harder so we came back in.
And the sun came back out 20 minutes later! We stayed in though, there were already a lot of disruptions and transitions today so we stayed put :-) We danced and played Doggie, doggie where's your bone?

It sounds like everyone had a great Halloween! We read a lot of books today- all 5 of the Big Books from the library plus 3 of the Halloween stories. The children did lots of building with the magnet tiles, and wood farm. We also had the magnet toy and chain links out.
