S~ Cantaloupe and graham crackers (by request)

We listened to African Drums today, and had a little circle-time, they all enjoyed the singing and fingerplays
Afterward we played many rounds of Ring Around the Rosy and when I stopped playing I tried to get some photos of the 3 of them- their favorite part is "we all fall down" so by the time they were all holding hands and I'd grab the camera, they were all on the floor again lol  That happened about 3x before I just decided to take the photos anyhow! :-)

Today's photos

Daniel's and Ivy's tall tower- they built it themselves!

The more mess, the more fun

When he presses it against the floor it makes a drilling sound

Tuesday November 5th

B~ Cheerios, bananas, milk
S~ Apples, graham crackers, water
L~ Home made Ziti with hamburg and Ragu sauce, fresh-cooked broccoli, milk
S~ Fresh pears, graham crackers, water

The kids seemed to like the new set-up. I can tweak things as needed based on the children too.
My goal was to create a more open and safer space for climbing on the cushions and gross motor play/movement  in the playroom. I will add more cushions in as the week progresses.

I ordered a geodesic dome climber a few weeks ago and they had said it would be delivered by tomorrow- we'll see :-)  Hopefully it will arrive this week and we can build it over the weekend. I think they will really enjoy it. The older ones can hang from the bars and climb it, the younger ones can crawl through the openings, walk inside etc.  It should be fun for dramatic play as well by throwing some sheets over it to create a house, fire station or whatever else they come up with!

We read "What Do Dinosaurs Do When They Get Sick" (something like that, they have a whole series that the kids enjoy) and we also read many lift-the-flap books together.

Brendan has been into taking my picture this week :-)

Pompoms, the best part of picking them up- is dumping them out again!

Jack was dragging the magna-doodle behind him as he walked along

This morning Brendan and Ivy played the game Candy Land. I helped and it was fun having them name the colors and move along the spaces. They did a great job taking turns, and we emphasized finishing and getting to the castle, over who got there first.

Today we also emptied the other mini-pumpkin of seeds. We are going to plant several and see if anything grows over the winter. I will also save seeds to plant in the spring and see if they will grow and if they will come up as miniature pumpkins.

When we were outside today, we filled the bird feeder. Now that it is getting cold we will start feeding the birds again. It is something the kids look forward to and it is a great way of caring for the creatures in our world.

Speaking of cold, everyone has been dressed appropriately but I think we can add mittens to the heavier coats and hats. Later, when it is really cold the kids will need boots and snowpants too-- hopefully the weather for those will be later rather than sooner, but winter is coming!

LOL sometimes it is hard to get a good photo!

Jack let me put his penguin hood up long enough for a photo

He is the cutest penguin ever!
