S~ Corn Muffins from Alanah, bananas and filtered water

We started planting heirloom seeds today. We planted seeds for small sugar pumpkins, Scarlett runner beans who's red flowers are supposed to attract hummingbirds, and a variety of bean called Lazy Wife-not politically correct --but named because it is easy to pick which sounded good to me :-)

I had prepped the soil flats last night but discovered they were still extremely dry, so we dumped it all into the big blue bin and got it nice and moistened by hand. Then we refilled the flat. We still have many varieties of seeds to go too.  I didn't get any photos, it was enough of an adventure just getting the seeds into the soil with a group of young kids :-)

We also had the community helper flannel board set out. We went through all the various careers and we talked about how the people were moms and dads at home but then they'd go out and work at their job, some had special clothes, uniforms and tools that they used. The kids were engaged and enjoyed it.

Just a smattering of photos

Addison with the community helper felt set- they are like paper dolls and the specialty clothing rests on the multi-cultural people

Outside Brrrr we were only out for 15 minutes
