Today we made moonsand which is just a combination of many cups of flour with some oil. The recipe I found called for 8 cups of flour to one cup of oil. I emptied a nearly full bag of flour into the sensory bin without measuring and added a cup of oil and then some more dribbles of oil til it got to the consistency that would lightly mold.
There are other recipes online using cornmeal or sand, we may try those in the future, but this one has a soft texture which is nice.
We read a big pile of books today including The Grouchy Ladybug and The Napping House.
We went outside for about half an hour this morning but had to come in to change diapers- and I was glad!
We stayed in after that and played and/or read books til it was time for lunch- everyone came over for at least parts of the stories and stayed as long as they were interested :-)
I forgot the camera inside so there are no outside photos today. We mainly used the sandbox and swings.

I gave him some new things to play with :-) |

We used whole wheat flour- organic even- but it had been around for a while so I used it |
|
It does look like real sand though :-) |

Jack loved clapping the puzzle pieces together like cymbals- not for the camera though |
