I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day! Addison turned Five Years old yesterday!

Everyone got to meet Toby this morning. It was very exciting, and sometimes overly so;  so he went downstairs a few times to get a break.

This will be a learning experience for all of us. We have already learned that if we stay quiet, Toby stays quiet too.

We found out if we run, Toby will run after us- and he will try to catch us with his mouth because he thinks we want to play a game. If we lay down he will climb all over us, he is mouthing and though he is playing his teeth are like little needles and they are sharp.

We learned that it is best to put most things in our backpack, rather than on the rug. The kids also told me that Toby is very soft, that he is small and that they love him :-)

We really want this to be a successful transition so we are giving the kids and Toby lots of breaks from each other and lots of reminders on how to behave- for both Toby and the children. In fact, it has been more visits from Toby rather than him being here constantly.

We are teaching the children to say No, to stand up if Toby starts to get too excited, to use quiet voices and not to run unless they want to be chased. We're also letting them know that puppies mouth and that we'll need to teach Toby. I also explained that Toby is very excited to have all these new friends! :-)

I think they've all done well for their first day meeting!

We also read books today "Birthday Presents" for Addison, "Bow-Wow Bugs a Bug"
"The Pigeon Wants a Puppy" and "Please, Puppy, Please" for some puppy/dog stories.

Brian went in to school late so he could introduce Toby

We had lots of supervision to keep things safe, and Toby only came for visits later

Five! Addison is 5 years old and the earth has traveled 5x around the sun!

We finally have a name under our cake with 5 candles!

Toby came to visit while we were outside, Addison walked him

Charli walked down the balance beam and then did her jumping dismount!

Jack loved the grass, he was up on his knees crawling

I gave him the bink so he wouldn't eat anything

Brendan makes a funny face

Jack loved this ball, he would hold it

Then he would let it go and crawl after it, pick it up, and roll over-- repeat!
